Five Awesome Podcasts You Should Be Listening To!

October 14, 2016
LOST IN STOCKHOLM (24)

I love listening to podcasts. In the morning when I’m getting ready to start the day, on my way to a meeting, sitting on the train, making dinner, to wind down at the end of the day. I’m not a big TV person and unlike books Podcasts are something you can put on in the background while you are doing something else. I have a lust for knowledge, I am hungry for it, continuously in pursuit of it. Podcasts are a fun, passive and non-invasive way to learn something new. Below are five podcasts that I just couldn’t live without. I listen to them every day or every week and often re-listen to old episodes. If you aren’t listening to these podcasts yet you need to start today!

1. Call Your Girlfriend
This is my all time favourite Podcast, I wish they would make an episode every single day, instead of every other week. I cannot get enough. If you aren’t listening to Aminatou Sow and Ann Friedman already start immediately! Fun, relevant, and always on point. This podcast discusses politics, pop culture, and women’s issues.
You can also sign up for their monthly newsletter “the bleed” here.

2. Girl Boss Radio
brought to you by Sophia Amoruso the founder of Nasty gal and author of #girlboss (great book by the way, if you haven’t read it yet go to the nearest library and get yourself a copy). On each episode Sophia interviews #girlbosses who have made their mark in creative, cultural, and business ventures to extract solid advice from the lessons they’ve learned along the way.

3. Invisbillia
A podcast about the invisible forces that rule our lives. It interweaves storytelling with scientific research. You can start with any episode, they are all extremely interesting. “Outside in” is about the all women’s Rwandan debate team and it’s one of the first episodes I listened to that made me fall in love with this podcast.

4. Woman of the hour – Lena Dunham
Star of girls and author of “Not That Kind Of Girl” (again, if you haven’t read it go read it now!). Lena has decided to explore the themes of her book deeper in her podcast.

β€œPlease subscribe if you like bad-asses, deep questions, giggling, sexual healing, Gaia life force, style, summer-camp, cute kids, the Internet and feminine power.”
– Lena Dunham

Couldn’t have said it better myself πŸ™‚

5. Radio Lab
Okay, so I know that most people have already jumped on this bandwagon and I’m a little late to the party but Radio Lab is freaking awesome! It doesn’t matter what episode you listen to they are all extremely interesting. The topics very but the storytelling will pull you in.

Now over to you, have I missed any “must listen” podcasts? What are some of your favourites? Leave them in the comments πŸ™‚
