My mom loves to tell this story. I was 3 years old and I was sitting on my aunt’s knee. She asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, expecting the common answers of doctor, firefighter, astronaut. I looked up at her with bright blue eyes and answered “I want to save the world”. Although this ambition may seem like a daunting and impossible task, on some level I’ve never really given up. I’ve always held the strong belief that if you do not at least try to do something remarkable with your life what is the point of living it?
A lot of people have asked me why I bother trying. Isn’t it depressing to go to third world countries and see people living in poverty? My answer is this, to me it is not depressing. It is inspiring because side by side with the worst of humanity you often see the best. If every single person who was capable of helping one other person did so, we could and would change the world.
Often it’s as simple as believing in someone, showing them that they are worth something, that their life matters. Confidence can move mountains. I strongly believe that this life is a journey and that you have the power to inspire every person you meet along the way. This blog is a glimpse into my life, the things and people that inspire me and my mission to forge my own path and to define my own meaning of success and happiness. Life isn’t meant to be lived in one place. I want to experience as much as I can and live as fully as I can for as long as I can. Welcome to my Journey and the beautiful little moments that make up my life….
